Youngsters talk about crime

News: The SAPS have launched the Junior Commissioners Project, an initiative to get youngsters involved in working against crime in communities. The Lephalale police visited Ellisras Hoërskool, Tielelo High School and Phegelelo High School. From these schools, ten learners where chosen to participate in a debate with the topic: “If I was a junior station commander, how would I help solve crime.”

More illegal cigarettes found

News: A modern stationwagon stacked to the roof with illegal cigarettes was found on a farm outside Lephalale when Molalatau Security responded to a call to its crisis control number on Saturday evening. Earlier that afternoon a farmworker alerted the police that his co-workers saw two suspicious vehicles speeding along a gravel road on a farm about 30km out of Lephalale on the Stockpoort road.

Top honours for Matimba
